How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide you with legal services and advice
  • To communicate with you about your matter
  • To comply with our professional obligations as lawyers regulated by the Law Society of Ontario
  • To respond to your inquiries submitted through our website or by telephone

Solicitor-Client Privilege

Information you share with Azimi Law in the context of seeking or receiving legal advice is protected by solicitor-client privilege — one of the most fundamental protections in the Canadian legal system. We take this obligation seriously and maintain strict confidentiality over all client communications and file contents.

Important: Submitting a contact form or calling our office does not by itself create a lawyer-client relationship or attract solicitor-client privilege. Privilege attaches once a retainer is established and legal advice is being sought or given.

We may disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent: To experts, medical professionals, or other third parties whose services are required for your matter
  • To opposing parties and courts: As required in the course of litigation, including through the discovery process
  • To our professional advisors: Accountants, IT service providers, and other professional service providers bound by confidentiality obligations
  • As required by law: In response to valid legal process including court orders, subpoenas, and statutory reporting requirements
  • To the Law Society of Ontario: As required by our professional regulatory obligations

We do not disclose your personal information to any other party without your prior written consent unless required or permitted by law.

Retention of Your Information

We retain client files and personal information for a minimum of ten years following the conclusion of a matter, in accordance with Law Society of Ontario requirements and standard legal practice. After the applicable retention period, physical records are securely destroyed and electronic records are permanently deleted.

Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience and to understand how our website is used. You can control cookie settings through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of our website.

Security of Your Information

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Our electronic files are password-protected and access is limited to authorized personnel. Physical files are stored securely at our office premises.

While we take reasonable precautions, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee that information transmitted over the internet will be completely secure. Sensitive communications regarding your legal matter should be directed to our office by telephone or through our secure email.
